1998-99 NOTES

Managed to get playing time after Ruben's injury and till Lloyd Daniel's coming . His best performance was vs Apollon when he scored 28 points with 11/11 ft, 7/7 2p, 1/1 3p, 6 rebounds and 3 steals .

1999-00 NOTES

He started the season with very good performances for the Greek Cup - he scored 17 points against Olympiakos, and he had 11 rebounds against Peristeri, but his best performance was against Peristeri with 18pts and 9 reb.

2000-01 NOTES

At the first part of the season he rarely scored double digits, while he was a starter and played more than 25 mpg . Got injured on the knee on January and was in the injury list for 40 days. Made an astonishing comeback scoring 27 pts and pulling 10 rebs vs Benetton in the Euroleague Playoffs in late February

2001-02 NOTES

Made his best performance vs TAU when with 24 pts, 12 rebs, 4 assists and 3 steals helped us to overcome a -15 deficit and win the game . Voted MVP of the 19th matchday as he scored 27 pts vs Marousi . Made a career high in A1 @ Ionikos NF with 29 pts (7/7 1p, 8/8 2p, 2/3 3p) .

2002-03 NOTES

Played with the Euroleague All Stars against Real Madrid . Scored 31 pts vs Maroussi (10/12 1p, 6/10 2p, 3/5 3p) and named MVP of the 3rd matchday. Averaged 16.5 ppg and 5.8 rpg . The club didn't payed him on time, thus gave him the right to break his contract with the team, and since January 30 he is a player of Montepaschi Siena ...

AEK HIGHLIGHTS


His first season was very promising (12.2 ppg) . Then with Bill Edwards in the 97 team, and Willie Anderson in the 98 team, Michalis was playing as a reserve . The last two years he played more, and was a key player in the team that won the three titles . Averaged 15 ppg in the Championship winning season (2001/02) .

  • Won the gold medal in 1993 Eurobasket for Cadettes.
  • He has played in 6 Cup Final-4, & 1 Euroleague F-4 .
  • He has won the Greek Championship with AEK in 2002 .
  • He has won the Greek Cup with AEK in 2000 & 2001.
  • He has won the Saporta Cup with AEK in 2000 .
  • He is a member of the national team with 41 caps and 239 points scored .
  • Played with the Euroleague All-Stars on October 2002 .
  • He is very keen on offensing rebounds .
