Stergioudas Theodoridis Tsanlaiter Ravousis Nikolaou Tsamis Tasos (55' Dedes) Nikoloudis Vagner Papaioannou MavrosScorers: Nikoloudis, Papaioannou
AEK did not start the game well and Stergioudas had the chance to show what he can do when he saved two goals on the 15th and 17th minute. On the 33rd minute AEK was awarded a foul outside the penalty area. Tasos took it but the ref asked for a re-take. This time Nikoloudis took the foul and the ball finished in the net. On the 45th minute Mavros missed one of those `can-not-miss' chances. On the 52nd minute Papaioannou scored the second goal using his famous left shot.

For the first ten minutes it was a `wait-and-see' game, each team trying to anticipate what the other team plans to do. For the next thirty minutes the ball was played mainly in the middle of the park. Dynamo open their account on the 43rd minute with a 25 metre shot from the left back. The ball hit the left post first and then rested in the net. AEK then started playing more and more defensively. Near the start of the second half (52nd minute) Intzoglou game one of his silly penalties away and the Dynamo striker scored from the spot sending Stergiouda the wrong way. Nothing changed for the remaining game and this meant 30 minutes of extra time. On the last minute of extra time the German AEK striker Vagner (a somewhat copy of the great Muller, i.e., playing with his back to the goal) had a shot from just outside the penalty area and on the right. The shot was stopped by a Dynamo defender but using his hand. The Scottish ref at once awared a penalty. Tasos came on as a substitution and with a great shot send the goalkeeper on the one side and the ball to the other (Tasos was the penalty specialist for AEK and his penalties usually send the ball low and centimetres away from either post)...and AEK to go to the next round.
