Stergioudas Theodoridis Ravousis Nikolaou Intzoglou Tsamis Tasos Nikoloudis Vagner (77' Papadopoulos) Papaioannou MavrosScorers: Papaioannou, Mavros
Papaioannou and Mavros were the scorers of AEK that night. Both goals were scored very early on the game (19' and 28') and AEK had many more chances to score again and again. The missed chances include the 55th minute when Vagner, after a pass from Theodoridis, inside the penalty area shot wide, the 75th minute when Vagner found himself opposite the Red Star goalkeeper and he slipped, and the 90th minute when Alekos Papadopoulos run with the ball inside the penalty area but his weak shot was saved.

Stergioudas Theodoridis Intzoglou Ravousis Nikolaou Papadopoulos Tsamis (26' Tasos) Nikoloudis Vagner Papaioannou MavrosScorer:VagnerAEK went through to the fourth round because of her performance on the second half. In the first half, Stergioudas saved a good chance on the 3rd minute, Nikolaou saved another goal on the 4th minute, on the 8th Loukits had a shot just out. Finally, on the 19th minute Red Star broke down the AEK defence and scored. AEK though came back and on the 25th minute equalised with Vagner. On the 30th an 34th minute Red Star scored two goals with Filipovits and Savits. 3-1 down and the rest of the game to play..it did not seem very promising for AEK. The rain that had started early in the first half continued for the second part of the game which was a constant Red Star attack. AEK defended well and had a couple of chances with Tasos (58th minute) and Mavros (71st minute) to kill the game. The last minutes and seconds of the game were dramatic. Red Star had won a corner on the 90th minute and I recall that even their goalkeeper Kagianits left his goal and went to AEKs penalty area. The AEK players, the AEK fans in the ground and the Greek fans watching on TV received with great relief the last whistle of the Italian ref indicating the end of the game. Red Star was a great team and AEK made us proud that night..now to the Quarter Finals.
